How SEO evolved: My review

I have started Search Engine Optimization in terms of link building to begin with. It was the era where all the SEO’s are more focused on the link building rather than the website on page optimization. The major attacked search engine is Google so all the efforts majorly seen for it. You could consider a website with more back links ranks higher in the Google search results for that time. However there are many websites which were still more concern about the user interface and user oriented as not much making website search engine friendly. My job was to collect links from the various types of submissions like directory submission, forum posting, social bookmarking and blog commenting. If you have good amount of back links for the targeted keywords then that was ranked better in search results.

After a period of time when i found that Google algorithms has more effective for on page optimization. Like meta tags, sitemap’s and keyword density. You can call that time as a spammer time as all the SEO’s were like a spammer. Including lots of links from various websites bad and good they used to stuff keywords in the content to make the site keyword rich. This is more than a spamming in present time. Yes, you can say it was the best time for the SEO’s to make money because it was very easy to rank a particular keyword in the search results.

When Google started updating its search engine algorithms for the better user experience cause more difficulties for search engine optimizer. That time Google used to put your website into a penalty for the certain things which are considered as spamming. Things link keyword stuffing in meta tags and content, also links from the bad website caused many website got penalty from the Google. Those websites who had got penalty used to rank after 50th page of the Google search results.

When Google comes with its best update ever which have change the search engine optimization completely it is called as Google panda update and followed by the penguin update. This update has change the face of the search engine optimization and the results for the best every user experience and results. Since February 2011, Google give a challenge to all the search engine optimizer’s in the world. Now its like you have to stay updated with the new changes in the algorithm’s.
