Rikhav Infotech SEO Case Study: Building Search Authority From Zero
Company: Rikhav Infotech
Role: SEO & ORM Team Leader
Employment: February 2008 – January 2011
Project: New truck-industry website
Focus: SEO Strategy, Content Creation, On-Page SEO and Link Building
Selected Result: Domain Authority 0 → 42 in approximately 8 months
The Result
Domain Authority: 0 → 42
The website started as a fresh domain with virtually no established search authority.
Within approximately eight months, the site’s Domain Authority increased from:
0 → 42
The improvement followed sustained work across content development, page optimization and link acquisition designed to establish the website’s relevance and authority.
Domain Authority is a third-party SEO metric, so I use this result as an indicator of the site’s growing link profile and authority rather than as a Google ranking metric.
Rikhav Infotech SEO Case Study: The Context
During my time as SEO & ORM Team Leader at Rikhav Infotech, I worked across websites and digital projects for small and medium businesses.
One of those projects involved a new website in the truck industry.
Unlike an established site with an existing backlink profile, rankings and search history, this website was starting almost entirely from zero.
That meant the SEO strategy first had to build the foundations needed for future organic visibility.
The challenge was not simply to optimize a handful of pages.
The website needed to develop:
Relevant content → Search relevance → External authority → Stronger organic visibility
The Challenge
New websites face a difficult starting position.
They generally have limited content, very few external links, little historical search data and minimal authority compared with established competitors.
For this project, the priority was therefore to create a credible SEO foundation rather than chase short-term ranking tactics.
The website needed stronger topical relevance, properly optimized pages, useful industry content and external links from relevant sources.
The objective was to steadily establish the site as a more credible resource within its niche.
My SEO Approach
The strategy focused primarily on three connected areas.
1. Building Relevant Content
Content creation was an important part of the growth strategy.
We developed content around subjects relevant to the truck industry and the audiences the website wanted to reach.
The goal was not simply to increase the number of indexed pages.
Each useful piece of content created another opportunity for the site to demonstrate relevance around its core subject area and potentially capture search demand.
Content was planned with consideration for:
User interest → Search relevance → Website topic → Organic discovery
This helped build a stronger topical foundation for the new domain.
2. Improving On-Page SEO
Content alone would not have been enough.
Pages also needed clear signals that helped search engines understand their topic and relationship to the rest of the website.
I worked on fundamental on-page SEO areas including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, page structure and other elements that improved the clarity of individual pages.
I also considered how visitors moved through the website.
Clear navigation and logical page structures supported both usability and search discovery.
This experience was particularly useful because my role at Rikhav combined SEO with website and digital execution rather than treating SEO as an isolated activity.
3. Building External Authority
A fresh website also needed credible external signals.
Link building therefore became an important part of the strategy.
The objective was to develop a stronger backlink profile over time while supporting the site’s growing body of relevant content.
Content creation and authority building worked together:
Useful Content
↓
Relevant Pages
↓
Link Acquisition
↓
Growing Site Authority
↓
Stronger SEO Foundation
Rather than expecting immediate results from one activity, the project relied on consistent execution over several months.
Why Content and Link Building Worked Together
One of the most important lessons from this project was that content and authority should not be treated as independent SEO tactics.
A website can publish large amounts of content without developing meaningful authority.
Likewise, acquiring links to a website with thin or poorly structured content creates a weak foundation.
The stronger approach was to develop both sides together.
The website gradually gained more useful content while its external authority also improved.
That combination helped strengthen the overall SEO foundation of the domain.
The Outcome
Within approximately eight months, the website’s Domain Authority grew from:
0 → 42
For a website that began as a fresh domain, this represented a substantial increase in third-party authority during the period.
The result demonstrated the impact of consistently combining:
Content Creation + On-Page SEO + Link Building
rather than depending on one isolated SEO tactic.
Business Impact
The most important outcome was not the Domain Authority number by itself.
The work created a stronger foundation from which the website could compete for organic visibility.
The site moved from having almost no established authority toward becoming a more credible domain with growing content depth and a stronger backlink profile.
For a new business website, that foundation matters because organic growth becomes significantly more difficult when the site lacks relevant content, clear structure and external authority.
What This Project Taught Me
This project helped shape several principles that still influence how I approach SEO today.
Build the Foundation Before Expecting Scale
A new website cannot skip the fundamentals.
Content, site structure, technical clarity and authority need time to develop.
Content Volume Is Not the Goal
Publishing more pages only helps when those pages contribute useful information and strengthen the site’s relevance.
Authority Takes Consistent Work
Strong backlink profiles are normally built over time rather than through one short campaign.
SEO Works Better as a System
Content creation, website structure, on-page SEO and external authority reinforce each other.
Optimizing them together is stronger than treating each activity separately.
How I Apply This Thinking Today
SEO has changed significantly since this project.
Search engines are more sophisticated, content quality expectations are higher, and AI-driven search is changing how brands are discovered.
But the underlying principle remains relevant.
A business still needs a strong digital foundation built around:
Useful Content
Clear Website Structure
Technical Accessibility
Topical Relevance
Brand and Authority Signals
Measurement
Today, I apply these principles as part of a broader Brand Visibility System rather than treating SEO as an isolated channel.
The objective is not simply to increase an SEO metric.
It is to make a business easier to discover, understand and trust across search and digital platforms.
